Activity Cards are required to register for any sport or program over 4 weeks.

The card is from September 1st, 20010-August 31st, 2011. Activity Cards can be purchased during in person registration.

Mini Soccer Convenor Kim Teffaine

Mini soccer is available to kids from U4 to U8.  This is based on the age that your child will be TURNING in the present year (2010)
 
Mini soccer is played at local fields in Southdale and Island Lakes. Players participationg in U5-U8 will have the opportunity to play 2 games per week, participants in U4 play once a week from early May until the end of June.  Games are either at 6 or 7 pm and last approximately one hour.  Practice times for U8 vary from team to team and are up to the coaching staff.
 
All players MUST have shinguards in order to play. 
Rubber cleats can be worn but are not mandatory.
 
There is a HIGH NEED for volunteers to coach/co-coach.  No previous experience is needed as we supply a skill and drills coaching manual.  If there are not enough parents willing to coach, teams will be made larger limiting the amount of playing time for each participant.  Each team NEEDS two coaches/co-coaches. We are looking for referees for the U8 games; these will be youths who are at least 11 years of age.  No referee training is required, but previous youth soccer experience is required.

Kids who are 9 and up play youth district level soccer. At this level, teams are no longer co-ed. Games are usually twice per week on fields in Southdale and at other community centers throughout the district. There may also be some weekend games. Players are placed on teams by the age that they are turning in that season's calendar year. The season runs from late April to the end of June. We break for July and August with resumption of play in September through to the playoffs in October. The Bonivital Soccer Club will determine the days of the week for games and the fee for the season. Coaches and assistants are always needed so let's get involved parents!! Coaching clinics are available and the program will reimburse the cost if you coach a rec. soccer team out of Southdale. If there are not enough kids signed up to play at a given age, either age advancement will be considered (with parental permission) or we will attempt to find another team in the Bonivital district for the player.

Please note that in the interest of fair play, players will be placed on teams according to abilities so that all teams have a chance to win. Only 1 request per child to play with a friend will be considered but fair play will still be the overall determining factor. 

Ages 9 - 12 will all play 9 a side games with roster maximums of 14. Players do not start playing 11 a side until they reach 13 years old. It is felt that 9 a side is better for developing kids, touching the ball, and getting playing time. This change encompasses all areas throughout the city and Manitoba.

Please note your club fees are comprised of several components.  For youth soccer Bonivital Soccer Club sets the same soccer fee for all clubs. Confirmation of these fees and their breakdown will be entered on this page when it becomes available.
