Female Hockey
The 2011-2012 hockey season is going to be an exciting year for female hockey. We hope to see two teams in the Novice bracket this season. In addition, the competition for our high level hockey continues to get better and better.
Our Female Hockey Program believes that hockey is for life. There are opportunities for high-level competitive hockey and for those players just looking for an activity.
Every year, we have new players join our Femal Hockey Program at different age levels. It is never too late to start playing Female Hockey. We continually have transfers from boys hockey and ringete.
Each year, our players receive support through several initiative made possible by past commitee volunteers and the Stars Cup for Life tournament. In past years, we have supported team development and team clothing credits. In addition, we are proud that our teams have the sharpest-looking jerseys around.
Female teams are formed according to Winnipeg Minor Hockey Association rules based upon the number of players registered at each age division.
Female hockey is categorized into the following:
Novice: 8 and under
Atom: 9-10 yrs
Peewee: 11-12 yrs
Bantam:13-14 yrs
Midget: 15-17yrs
Midget: 15-17yrs
