We have a great place for young children! Southdale Community Club offers a 3-year old preschool program called Tiny Tots. It runs from the end of September to the Beginning of May and operates two mornings a week – Monday and Wednesday from 9:00AM – 11:15AM. The children have a lot of fun playing with peers and enjoying new activities. Three preschool teachers interact with a maximum of 27 children in a large open environment. Here, things such as show & tell, craft, free play, circle, snack, and story time take place daily. Our focus is fun as the children learn with theme-based activities. This is a special place to be as children take part in their first ‘school’ experience. Registration occurs during the spring registration sessions. | ||

| NURSERY SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY | ||
Each child is a unique individual with rights for love, respect and quality child care. Children should have optimal experiences for physical, social, emotional and intellectual growth. They should be encouraged to develop creativity, self-confidence and a positive self-image. They should also have the opportunity to learn to make choices and decisions to solve problems and to become independent, capable thinkers. Since children are active learners, they are entitled to safe and stimulating environment where they can explore their surroundings. This ability to learn should be fostered so that learning and growth are a fun process. The teachers recognize that children proceed through levels of development at various rates. | ||
| DISCIPLINE | ||
We feel that children should learn to function in a controlled situation, within the limits set for them. This is important to ensure the children’s safety and a well-run, organized program. We strive to achieve this in a positive consistent manner. If this is not achieved then we may redirect the child’s activity to quiet time or depending on the situation, we may remove them entirely from the group. There will be no form of physical, verbal, or emotional abuse inflicted on any child in attendance.

| ADMISSION AND DISCHARGE POLICY | ||
All children 3 years old by December 31st are accepted on a first come first serve basis. | ||
| TRANSPORTATION POLICY | ||
Parents are responsible for their child’s transportation (arrival and departure). 9:00 a.m. Please stay with your child until staff opens the door for Tiny Tots and check them in. 11:00 a.m. Please wait until the hall doors are opened and then come into the classroom to collect your child and check out. | ||
