Further to the 19 teams that Southdale hosted, Southdale players played on regional Bonivital teams in the Mosquito A, Peewee A, and Midget AA divisions as well as Blacksox teams for Peewee AAA, Bantam AAA and Midget AAA.
For the second year in a row, the Southdale Baseball Program strongly promoted participation from new players in every age group: Our slogan: Never played baseball before? No Problem! With dozens of new baseball players this year; the new-player program continues to be a huge success. If your son or daughter has never played baseball before, sign them up next year.
I would like to thank all the baseball volunteers that enabled the kids to have a fun year by coaching, managing teams, score keeping, getting diamonds ready for games, and helping with playoffs. Without your help, it would not have happened. I look forward to next year!
Our high-performance players continue to thrive at Southdale. Our secret is the unwavering commitment from the volunteer coaches that keep coming back year after year to work with these kids.
Even though the baseball season is over for most teams, there are several weeks left where parents and players can work on improving their skills for next year. Get our there and play some baseball!
